Yeah, that wouldn't make any harm. There are already some untranslated strings known that other users have posted that haven't been changed in 2.42 yet (and some things that I forgot to merge in it....)

Re: Updated Lang.files
Many of those missing translations have been fixed. There are many missing ones from Night but I didn't touch those as I don't what's going to happen with them. "Starting up" on the splash screen can't be translated as it's shown instantly when the app is started (and before the translation is loaded).
Have you used the SVN version of the Example file for translation? It's recommended to only use the file that is available from Translator area.

There are no new strings since 2.42, you need to wait for 2.50

Re: Updated Lang.files
Oki, then there is a new thing, that isnt translated or cant be
Its was called "SSL error 5", now it is called: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
I looked at the SVN, is the new stuff in EN_Example.xml, something that will be used. Just thinking that i would translate the lines and them have them ready if they are en the new release from the translator area?

Messages from the operating system can't be translated (and the assumption is that the user will understand the language of his operating system)
