[FIXED] Bad Magic Number Error (V 2.61)

Postby DaWolfman » 19 Oct 2013, 16:30

maksis,

Updated the program this morning. This error ran consecutively around 100 times before stopping.

[11:21:53] Failed to read from file index: Invalid argument: not an sstable (bad magic number)

I noticed my share total file size is smaller also...it may be related?

Received a couple more errors related to the hash.

[11:39:48] Failed to read from hash data: IO error: C:\Users\Me\Documents\AirDC++\HashData\\006019.ldb: Reached the end of the file.
. You can set the database to be verified and repaired from the "Sharing options" tab in Settings (if needed)

I went ahead and performed the verify and repair, and this was the result:

[11:43:49] Hash database maintenance started...
[11:43:51] Failed to read from file index: IO error: C:\Users\Me\Documents\AirDC++\FileIndex\\000370.ldb: Reached the end of the file.
. You can set the database to be verified and repaired from the "Sharing options" tab in Settings (if needed)
[11:43:51] Failed to complete the hash database maintenance

Did you use the inbuilt updater? Is it a problem for you to delete the old database and rehash everything? It might have mixed two databases if you had one in the exe directory before.

No, not a problem. I can do that today and report back.

P.S. Yes, I used the inbuilt updater.

P.P.S. Can I just delete that one ldb file that keeps reporting the error? Or do I have remove every directory from the sharing menu and re-add each one?

I uploaded new builds of 2.61 that won't migrate the hash database if there's one in the target location already. Unfortunately the new build won't fix the issue for you.

Yes, you may try deleting those ldb files too... but I'm not sure if it will work. You have nothing to lose though.
