Is it possible to search for -xvid- ?
Is it possible to make AirDC++ not subtract when I use - in front of a word or after a space?
And if you wonder why the hell I wanna make a search for -xvid- or -x264-...it makes the search for music videos easier.

Re: Is it possible to search for -xvid- ?
good point.
i'm not much into mvids, but i can see the problem.
I think it might actually be a (nmdc) protocol problem, as i see it with other clients too. (though i'm no programmer, so i could be wrong)
then i could be impossible to circumvent.
guess we need an expert opninion,

I believe it happens when the clients interpret the string in the text box, so its a "client bug".
tho night will probably give a better answer to that

i dont consider this a bug. it's actually a feature.. when you dont want something showing up in search results, you effectively 'skip' it with putting - infront. so.. the only way to make hogwinds inquiry possible, would be to disable.. the feature :)

or use a different character as escape character?
or use a double minus to un-escape it. like -- or any extra character to signify it's not an operator
or user double colons to make it a string, like "-xvid-"
or allow regexp searches
or don't use as an operator if it's the first search term.
i guess there are plenty of ways to implement it while not disabling either function.

Re: Is it possible to search for -xvid- ?
the protocol has no support for search enhancers like AND, NOT etc so having features like that would mean the client would have to filter them from displying in the search results, which of course would be a possible solution.
I always considered the client should do a full text search for what ever string i put in the box, but thats just me
