State of play of linux/web/ ansible deployment

Please forgive this question as I've clearly something to work out that makes the forum pretty unusable (attached) - pihole perhaps as tried a couple of browsers but not different machines/ networks yet.

I've run the windows client for some time
I'd like to move to linux headless,

I can live with 'a bit cumbersome' but, for example, autosearch is critical.
Am I being blind or lazy not seeing it?
Does anyone have a comparison of what's 'missing' form the windows UI?
Are there hacks of setting it up on windows and templating the files over?

Overall I'm trying to find ways to deploy all my machines through ansible, just in case that rings a bell for anything clever
